hi there!

I am Khadijah. Also go by Nana, KJ, Candy, Khadii and any other name you wish to call me.

I attained my Bsc. in Economics earlier in June but with the scarcity of Economist internships where I live (scarce economist roles – how ironic), I managed to secure a finance internship, working as a Research Analyst.

As you can see in that picture, I looked hopeful like I could see the great things awaiting me upon earning my Bsc. In reality, one month after graduation, my unemployment was choking me.

That being said, I still find myself – in the middle of my stock valuations and recommendations – daydreaming about preparing reports on economic issues instead (just kidding, no one daydreams about more work but you get my point).

My internship has served as the best finance exposure for me so far – without any sense of rush whatsoever – but I find myself feeling anxious at times when I am asked to value a company. Or recommend stocks for someone to buy. Or explain how the bond market works.

Everyday, I am more certain that Economics is my comfort zone and while I’m fully invested in my finance role day and night, Monday to Friday (and a little bit of Saturday sometimes) I find my interest in macro topics unrelenting.

Long story short, I am trying to keep that spark alive and build my knowledge as much as possible, leaving no room for my memory of these macro concepts to fade with time.

I learn best by teaching others and in order to improve myself, I decided to have a blog where I can explain in the simplest form the meanings of certain economic concepts such as Monetary Policy, Unemployment, Public Debts, Budget Deficit and my personal favourite – Inflation.

With that, I present to everyone reading right now the Nana Khadijah Blog.

I’ve been going back & forth with my WhatsApp cl on the name to use. We couldn’t decide and I’m headed to my NYSC Camp in 2 days so I’m going with this for now.

I hope to become consistent post-camp (I’ll be done November ish). Look forward to my blog posts, ensure to engage and share your feedback so I can do better with my writing. See you guys soon!

Appreciate everyone who has read this far. Have a lovely week ahead!
